Elementary Forest Homeschool
About Our Program
We are a weekly supplemental enrichment program providing homeschooling families unique hands-on nature activities, science experiments, art projects and interest-led exploration. By trusting the innate drive to learn that exists inside of each child, we provide a learning-rich environment where our trained facilitators encourage children's interests while allowing them to invent, create and discover their real-life applications.
We are a blend of elementary Forest School, Montessori and Waldorf with a fundamental belief that educating the whole child is essential. We maintain small group ratios and our facilitators have completed comprehensive trainings in Elementary Forest School Theory, Forest School Teacher Training, Early Childhood Development, Emotional Development, Elementary Education, Elementary Montessori, Wilderness First Aid, and Leadership.
Welcome Explorers! The crux of our learning is in our Exploration Stations where children choose their own adventures during our designated activity sessions each day. Our trained facilitators rotate content each week among the following areas:
Explore the five senses, learn about science in a natural setting, and observe and engage with the plants and animals who live there.
Enjoy nature-based science experiments, activities and games. Take advantage of these natural opportunities as we wander our local wilderness.
Learn to use watercolors, chalks, dry paints, crayons, pencils, charcoal and other modalities to create beautiful artistic expressions.
Travel around the world with us as we explore a different country each week including geography, languages, culture, cuisines, economics & more!
Discover the wide world of underwater sea animals, tides, waves, coastal erosion, islands, the seafloor, saltwater, shore life and much more!
Sing songs, listen to music and learn to recognize and appreciate different elements of music including the emotional connection to song.
Develop basic survival skills to be a nature explorer learning how to use tools, knots, how to build shelter, and identify various nature dangers.
Grow your familiarity and knowledge of Spanish in an immersion setting with conversation, games and fun activities to develop skills.
Interested in continuing a project from home? Or pursuing a topic of your own? We work with you to facilitate other topics of interests.
