Outdoor Elementary Homeschool Program
About Our Program
We are a daytime enrichment program providing homeschooling families a weekly setting for unique hands-on nature activities, wilderness skills, arts & crafts, and a great variety of interest-led nature play and exploration. By trusting the innate drive to learn that exists inside of each child, we provide a learning-rich environment where our trained facilitators encourage children's interests while allowing them to invent, create and discover many real-life applications.
Students attend up to 2x/week to enjoy our blend of elementary Forest School, Montessori and Waldorf education styles. We maintain small group ratios in order to teach the whole child, and our facilitators have completed comprehensive trainings in Elementary Forest School Theory, Forest School Teacher Training, Early Childhood Development, Emotional Development, Elementary Education, Elementary Montessori, Wilderness First Aid, and Leadership. We hope you can join us!
Exploration Stations
Welcome Explorers! The crux of our learning is in our Exploration Stations where children choose their own adventures during our designated activity sessions each day. Our trained facilitators rotate content each week among the following areas:
Nature Studies
Explore the five senses, discover and compare different habitats and ecosystems, and engage with the plants and animals who live there.
Crafts Around the World
Experience different periods in history through arts and crafts, using materials and techniques that children and families enjoyed in their daily lives.
Reggio & Waldorf Art
Learn to use watercolors, chalks, dry paints, crayons, pencils, charcoal and other modalities to create beautiful artistic expressions.
Wilderness Skills
Develop basic survival skills to be a nature explorer learning how to use tools, knots, how to build shelter, and identify various nature dangers.
Local History
Learn about the practices and try making crafts from the Chumash and other Native American cultures from around the Western United States.
Music
Sing songs, listen to music and learn to recognize different elements of music, particularly the stories told through song, and the art they inspire.
Ecology
Enjoy nature-based science activities and games. Take advantage of these natural opportunities as we deep dive into our local wilderness.
Oceanography
Discover the wide world of underwater sea animals, tides, waves, coastal erosion, islands, the seafloor, saltwater, shore life and much more!
Independent Study
Interested in continuing a project from home? Or pursuing a topic of your own? We work with you to facilitate other topics of interests.
Every Day Also Includes:
Virtues & Values
Learn to recognize and grow positive virtues and values with our fun and interactive infusion of positive character development.

Build on hiking skills starting with wilderness wanders, and growing to optional longer hikes all while growing self-confidence and tenacity.
Open Arts & Crafts
Paint, draw, sew, gather, collect and assemble crafts and make artwork. Every day includes free expression in the form of various arts and crafts.
Games & Free Play
